Derek and Krissy Letcher have a philosophy of quiet determination, honesty, and superior customer service. Each and every project is bespoke; that means individually designed and made for you from high quality materials and attention to detail is embodied in every project.
Because we are a small company, dedicated to quality and service, from your first visit, you get to speak directly to the craftsman, and your plans are hand-drawn by Derek. We believe in designing better spaces for our clients and we realise you are entrusting us with your home. We take this responsilbity very seriously and it shapes the way we run our business. Krissy’s belief in providing the best service is her priorty.
After returning from living overseas, Derek and Krissy started Bespoke Projects in 2010. The name came about from one of Derek’s English clients telling him that he really needed to call his work “bespoke”. Krissy also encountered the true meaning of “bespoke” while working for Rolls Royce Motor Cars in England.
When Bespoke Projects was born, few people had heard of this word and we were often asked what it meant. Little did we realise, within a short space of time, the word would be branded everywhere. For us “bespoke” is about being authentic. We believe following trends should be avoided because we want all our products to bring you joy for a long time, and working together with our clients is a prerequisite for creativity and style.
When the opportunity of learning a new skill came along in his mid-30s, Derek decided to jump at the chance, not realising that this would lead to owning his own cabinet making business in years to come. Derek has always maintained a passion for working with timber and creating new products. His genuine personality is appreciated by clients and he goes out of his way to deliver a quality product that is to his high standard.
Since the begining of Bespoke Projects Ltd, Krissy’s focus has been raising their young son. Now William is at school, Krissy has completed a Dipolma in Interior Design and there is more time and knowledge to add to the Bespoke Projects trademark.
James Patterson is a highly talented man. His creativity, and desire for knowledge and learning, has led him from being a successful chef to exploring the world of cabinet making. He is passionate about ergonomics within the kitchen and sustainability of products.
We are fortunate to have Ty Everitt and Rod Banks as subcontactors to Bespoke Projects Ltd. They both have a long standing relationship with Derek which is vital when they are part of our business working within your homes. Rod has been working with Derek for many years as an installer, and we can highly recommend his professional attitude and skills while in your home. Ty has grown up with cabinet making and, after starting his apprenticeship with his father in Matakana, he has continued his trade here and overseas with exceptional skills in cabinet making and installing.
